“You cannot take your clients any further than you have gone yourself.”

— Jeffrey A. Kottler

Welcome to dive deep within in this full board retreat at Tammisaari! This retreat is intended for anyone working in a therapeutic field, including psychotherapists, brief therapists, occupational therapists, art therapists and dance/movement therapists, as well as psychologists, nurses, massage therapists, doctors and others who bring a therapeutic presence to their work with people.

Therapeutic work is, at its core, a meeting between two human beings. It calls not only for theoretical understanding and methodological skill, but above all for sensitivity, creativity, and the courage to be fully and authentically present. It is a lifelong journey of turning inward — observing and accepting one’s own reactions, emotions, and embodied experiences.

This retreat offers a space to pause and connect with yourself, to deepen into your inner process in a held, compassionate environment.

While the main focus is on your personal journey, the retreat may also provide inspiration and practical tools for professional work — drawing from a philosophy that trusts the wisdom within and emphasizes experiential, emotional, and somatic approaches to healing. We don't teach new therapeutic skills per se, but we can offer you a safe and supportive space where your “inner professional guidance” can take place, leading for example to unburdening your own emotional load or to discover new perspectives or inspirations.

This retreat is time for you and for your needs. On Friday we will land softly to the venue, meet the group and prepare for the inner journeys. On Saturday there will be two breathing sessions, in which each participant will be breathing in one session and sitting for the breather-partner in one. On Sunday we deepen the integration process with an easy pace.

This full-board retreat takes place in the charming seaside town of Tammisaari, at the Villa Mauritz -retreat place (Trollbölevägen 38, 10600 Tammisaari). If you’re travelling by public transport, bus 111 runs from Tammisaari to Västerby, which is a 7-minute walk from the venue. If needed, we can also pick you up from the bus station in Tammisaari.

The price for Villa Mauritz includes delicious, healthy vegetarian meals, sauna access, and accommodation in a shared room. If you prefer a private room, you can request one for an additional €70, although availability can only be confirmed closer to the retreat. For hotel-standard single accommodation, Hotel Seafront is located 2.8 km away and must be booked separately (https://hotelseafront.fi/). If you stay somewhere else than Villa Mauritz, you’ll receive a €54 discount on the accommodation fee charged by Villa Mauritz.

No previous experience in breathwork is required for the retreat. We will speak Finnish and/or English during the retreat, depending on the language skills of the participants. We can provide translation if needed.

Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful method of self-exploration, which helps us to connect more deeply with our inner healing wisdom. During the retreat you can surrender to your inner process with your own pace and style in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space. The method consists of different therapeutic elements, such as specific kinds of music to support the inner process, intensified breathing, bodywork and emotional work, another person's compassionate presence, group process and different kinds of preparing and integration supporting practices.
